About The Position

Saber Power Services is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Based in Houston, Texas, the company designs, installs, tests, and maintains medium- and high-voltage electrical infrastructure for clients locally, nationally, and abroad.

This role is suited to someone with basic CAD knowledge who wants to grow in the high-voltage industry and demonstrates initiative, technical ability, and a strong work ethic. The CAD Designer creates drawings using CAD software.

Requirements

• Basic proficiency in 2D AutoCAD drafting and scaling.
• Strong computer skills and technical aptitude.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Highly motivated and a self-starter.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD software to produce shop and erection drawings, plans, and bills of material based on project and equipment specifications and requirements, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Read and interpret equipment specifications and details.
• Communicate and coordinate with engineers and senior designers to clarify design intent.
• Ensure drawings and plans adhere to company and industry standards and guidelines.
• Iterate drawings, issue revisions, and maintain version control.
• Collaborate with project teams to complete drawings and plans accurately and on time.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews.
• Issue submittal packages.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date project files and records.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
