About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Design Lead to help craft memorable visual experiences across product launches, campaigns, experiential moments, and live and digital programming. You will create cohesive visual narratives for brand expressions that span keynote presentations, large-format environments, digital surfaces, motion systems, and physical touchpoints. This role demands a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on design craft, and close collaboration with brand, marketing, product, motion, and production partners to bring ideas to life across mediums and moments.

Requirements

  • Have 10+ years of experience in brand design across multiple touchpoints, including campaigns, launches, experiential, environments, motion, and digital assets.
  • Have a portfolio that demonstrates strong brand thinking and execution across typography, motion, physical applications, and digital systems.
  • Are skilled at creating cohesive brand systems that translate seamlessly across physical and digital environments.
  • Enjoy collaborating with cross-functional partners to bring brand ideas into the real world.
  • Balance creative vision with practical execution, delivering work that is visually compelling, scalable, and production-ready.
  • Are comfortable working on high-visibility, time-sensitive projects with evolving requirements.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and adapt quickly as priorities shift.
  • Care deeply about craft and consistency, ensuring every touchpoint feels intentional and aligned.
  • Are excited to help shape how a global audience experiences OpenAI’s brand, mission, and technology.
  • Enjoy mentoring and elevating others, helping set a high bar for brand design at scale.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on global brand or product marketing campaigns.
  • Familiarity with motion systems or design systems for marketing brands.
  • Experience collaborating with product design or engineering teams.
  • Exposure to emerging motion formats, such as interactive or immersive experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design from concept to completion. Create visual assets across physical and digital touchpoints—such as environmental graphics, signage, wayfinding, apparel, merchandise, toolkits, and campaign assets—that set tone, communicate purpose, and reinforce brand identity. Leverage consistent logos, typography, color, and texture to deliver cohesive brand experiences.
  • Develop visual systems for launches and live moments. Design flexible graphic and motion systems for product announcements, live streams, and digital programming, including overlays, lower-thirds, titles, and presentation frameworks that scale across platforms and audiences.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally. Partner with brand, marketing, product, motion, video, and production teams to translate strategy into clear, compelling visual expression. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure designs align with brand language, goals, and timelines.
  • Maintain and evolve brand systems. Work within established brand guidelines while refining and expanding them for new use cases, channels, and moments. Document systems and share learnings to enable consistency and scalability across the ecosystem.
  • Manage design timelines and delivery. Own and coordinate project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and teams stay aligned from early concept through final production and launch.
  • Support scale and quality. Contribute to scaling global brand moments by helping build strong design processes, supporting other designers, and fostering a culture of craft, clarity, and collaboration.
