Under direct supervision of the Behavioral Health Manager, the Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) provides intervention and support to individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. They respond to calls requesting crisis services and travel to locations to provide crisis assessments, determine necessary treatment to stabilize the situation, and arrange for hospital placements or outpatient treatment. The goal is to stabilize the crisis using the least restrictive setting possible while ensuring the safety of the individual and the community. This role requires close collaboration with emergency responders, law enforcement, and other community partners. The DCR position offers opportunities for both collaborative and independent work, varied workdays, and creative problem-solving.
