About The Position

As a Designated Coordinator, you will oversee the program management for homes supporting individuals with disabilities. Shifts: Two direct support shifts a week Monday and Friday 8a to 4pm Although the hours for this position are primarily Monday-Friday, the expectation is that you will be available as needed for emergencies and to meet the needs of the program.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a field related to Human Services and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; OR An associate's degree in a field related to Human Services and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; OR A diploma in a field related to Human Services from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; OR A minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to Human Services and disabilities and four years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older under the supervision of a staff person who meets the qualifications identified in clauses 1 to 3.
  • Driver's license required.
  • CPR certificate, First Aid (when required), and medication administration training is also required but can be obtained after hire.
  • Training in supervisory skills, team building, and leadership.
  • Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) clearance is required.
  • Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record is required.
  • When managing an ICF/MR program, a bachelor's degree (with QDDP designation) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assure each individual is provided guidance, encouragement, support, comfort, security, and safety through relationship building.
  • Advocate that each individual's health and wellness needs are met and that they are accomplishing their outcomes, hopes, and dreams by promoting independence in performing essential life skills.
  • Monitor and assure the administration of medication and medical treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and maintain each individual's plan and financial records per regulation and program policies and procedures.
  • Supervise, support, train, and evaluate Direct Support Professionals - teaching them to be the advocates they need to be to support each individual they work with.
  • Manage the accounts payable, payroll records, petty cash/individual accounts, and budget monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counties, families, stakeholders, and community organizations/groups.
  • Maintain documentation, perform record keeping, and participate in periodic meetings/trainings.
