About The Position

As a Design Technologist on the Sleep & Respiratory Care Experience Design team, you’ll work at the intersection of experience design and software development. You’ll translate customer and patient needs into intuitive, high-impact digital experiences and build coded solutions that bring those ideas to life. Working with global, cross-functional teams, you’ll help deliver digital propositions that are safe, scalable, technically feasible, and valuable to the people who use them.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience with a strong combination of product-design judgment and front-end development capability.
  • UX designer with front-end development skills and proficiency in multiple front-end programming languages.
  • Depth in at least one language/platform.
  • A hands-on approach: you build, test, understand, modify, and evaluate front-end code. You build, not just spec.
  • Experience translating designs into functional prototypes that demonstrate real interactions and help users, stakeholders, and developers evaluate ideas before full development.
  • A commitment to both code quality and experience quality, with a demonstrated ability to use research and testing to incorporate user feedback into design decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, balanced with visual craft and attention to detail.
  • Systems thinking: you understand how changes in one part of a product can affect connected devices, apps, and clinical workflows.
  • Proficiency with tools such as: Design: Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite; Development: VS Code, Xcode, Android Studio, Git/GitHub; AI-assisted development: Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools; Code quality and analysis: linters, SonarQube, Black Duck, or similar tools.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates both design thinking and technical execution: how you moved from a user need to a design concept to a coded experience; how you incorporated feedback; and how your work influenced the resulting product.
  • Strong communication, storytelling and stakeholder-management skills, with experience working in fast-paced, agile, cross-functional teams.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.

  • Examples where AI-assisted tools helped you explore, prototype, or validate an experience more quickly, while maintaining high design and engineering judgment.
  • An interest in healthcare and personal health.
  • Experience creating software in a regulated healthcare environment is a plus.

  • Bridge design and engineering by creating functional, coded prototypes and solutions that help de-risk go-to-market, communicate experience intent and explore technical feasibility.
  • Work with cross-functional product-development teams, partnering closely with product managers and product owners to define and validate experiences with customers and patients, and with developers to support its implementation.
  • Bring key design competencies to the cross-functional team, including workflow assessments, design sprint facilitation, concept development, and creation of a consistent brand experience for our customers via use of the Philips Design language and system.
