The primary responsibilities of this role are to work cross functionally to lead the design of EOAT, Fixtures and related tools to meet customer expectations and internal manufacturing requirements. The Design Technician ensures ProMed’s brand, philosophy, systems, policies, and procedures are properly implemented and observed.

Requirements

  • 2 year technical/vocational degree or equivalent engineering education
  • 5+ years of related experience in injection molding
  • Proficient in Creo Parametric or Solidworks
  • Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of tooling practices and fabrication techniques
  • Able to understand and interpret customer drawings
  • Strong work ethic with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional results
  • Be a fact-based problem solver that can strategically analyze situations and problems
  • Be innovative, take initiative, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to continuous improvement company-wide
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Able to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written) to management, customers, and colleagues. Receives information effectively.
  • Professional, courteous, and friendly personality
  • Working knowledge of English (verbal and written)

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge and first-hand experience with injection molding

Responsibilities

  • Performs design of tooling and fixtures
  • Completes designs in Creo Parametric or Solidworks in an efficient and organized manner
  • Works cross functionally to establish design inputs based on customer and part manufacturing requirements while ensuring safe and high-quality tool builds
  • Conducts design reviews with engineering and tooling
  • Prepare and manage layout drawings when applicable
  • Keeps internal stakeholders aware of design status and progress
  • Interacts and collaborates with customers at times to effectively support and recommend appropriate design changes
  • Utilize software, standards, and existing designs to reduce project lead time
  • Solicits feedback on the results of tool fabrication and part manufacturing to better future designs
  • Design, document, and provide scope of work for tool modifications and repairs
  • Recommend changes to tool designs to improve the life of the tooling
  • Completes purchase requisitions as needed
  • Maintain inventory of components and materials as needed
  • Ensure documentation meets quality systems requirements
  • This job also requires performing other duties as assigned.
