Design Technician
About The Position
Magnolia River is seeking a Design Technician to contribute to natural gas pipeline projects. This role involves creating detailed maps, blueprints, and documentation using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D. The technician will support engineering efforts by assisting with permitting, material quantity analysis, and managing digital mapping data. The position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in relevant software, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. The company is an industry leader in engineering, inspection, GIS, software, and consulting solutions, with a presence in 40 states and a team of nearly 1,000 professionals.
Requirements
- A strong understanding of engineering design principles, material properties, and construction methods.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
- Ability to ensure accuracy in designs, maintain company CAD standards, and manage project data efficiently.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Willingness to travel, work overtime when needed, and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Associate degree or equivalent education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- GIS and ESRI ArcMAP experience is a plus.
- Experience with natural gas pipeline drafting and piping design is preferred.
- Prior internship experience at Magnolia River is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed maps, blueprints, and as-built documentation using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D to support pipeline design.
- Assist with permitting, material quantity analysis, and red-line changes to ensure smooth project execution.
- Edit, review, and manage digital mapping data, maintaining accuracy and adhering to CAD standards.
- Work alongside project teams and leadership to ensure deliverables meet expectations.
- Take initiative, contribute innovative ideas, and continuously develop your skills to advance your career.
- Manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining billable targets.
Benefits
- Compensation: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on your skills and years of experience
