About The Position

The firm fosters an environment that encourages growth and creativity among its employees. Olsson is seeking a talented and experienced Design Technician to join their team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role involves providing multidisciplinary design services for various land development projects, including mixed-use, commercial, residential, industrial, sports, and schools. As an Associate Technician, the individual will utilize CAD software for complex engineering design, participate in client meetings, and prepare project cost estimates. Key responsibilities also include preparing engineering and survey drawings from sketches and general design information, while adhering to established standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
  • Associates degree.
  • 3 years of Civil 3D CAD software experience.
  • Passion for positively affecting communities through your work.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other team members to produce high-quality engineering designs for site design projects.
  • Performs engineering support tasks such as gathering data, updating and maintaining computer files, preparing copies of drawings, and documenting design changes.
  • Use CAD software to design and layout complex engineering drawings.
  • Prepare engineering and survey drawings from rough sketches and general design information.
  • Travel to job sites for observation and perform fieldwork in all types of terrain and weather conditions.
