About The Position

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Public Buildings Division, Architecture & Engineering Unit seeks a Design Reviewer (Electrical). This role involves project scoping, design and/or review of consultant drawings and specifications using Blue-Beam, site inspection and reports, ad hoc technical investigations, in-house design using AutoCAD, and providing technical expertise and support services for client-agency projects. The candidate will also interface with clients, consultants, contractors, and technical staff. All candidates must be permanent in the Electrical Engineer title and reachable on the open-competitive list for exam #6046. Candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States and present original documents proving citizenship or legal right to work. The agency does not support or sponsor visa applications or extensions. Educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution, with foreign credentials requiring equivalency verification.

Requirements

  • Permanent in the Electrical Engineer title
  • Reachable on the open-competitive list for exam #6046
  • Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in electrical engineering work
  • A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License
  • Current New York State registration as a Professional Engineer must be maintained for the duration of employment
  • Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.)
  • Ability to present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • A masters degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the electrical engineering experience required.
