About The Position
The Design and Retail Sales position is ideal for someone with an eye for design who enjoys merchandising, styling, product selection, and creating exceptional customer experience. While this is a retail position, your interior design knowledge will be invaluable in helping customers select furnishings, finishes, artwork, and accessories while supporting our showroom operations. Working alongside the Retail Manager, you’ll help lead daily store operations, inspire customers through beautiful merchandising, support sales initiatives, and ensure every customer receives an outstanding experience.
Requirements
- Degree in Interior Design preferred (or equivalent professional design experience)
- Experience in residential interior design, furniture sales, or luxury retail preferred
- Strong understanding of furniture, color, scale, and home decor
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Comfortable using point-of-sale systems and technology
- Customer-focused with dedication to delivering outstanding service
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Basic math skills for cash handling
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced retail environment
Responsibilities
- Assist in leading the daily operations of the retail store, including opening and closing procedures
- Create an inviting and inspiring shopping environment through exceptional merchandising and showroom presentation
- Build relationships with customers by understanding their style, needs, and project goals
- Provide product recommendations using your design expertise
- Support the Retail Manager in achieving sales goals
- Stay current on new products, industry trends, and company promotions
- Assist with inventory management, receiving merchandise, tagging products, and showroom placement
- Address customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate
- Support company events, seasonal floor changes, and promotional initiatives
- Collaborate with other departments to provide a seamless customer experience
- Must be able to work a rotating Saturday schedule, surrounding holidays, and evenings if necessary for events
