About The Position

Overview: Under close supervision, performs assignments receiving specific and detailed instruction as to tasks required and results expected. The intern is integrated into a multi-disciplinary R&D team to participate in as much of the process as possible. The design research intern will be focused on collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data from our HKS offices via surveys, focus groups, and observations. Role can include building dashboard prototypes for reporting data insights.

Requirements

• Currently earning a graduate degree at an accredited school
• Typically, 1-2 years of research experience
• Proficiency in statistical analysis required
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work in team environment
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred

Responsibilities

• Supports interdisciplinary project teams through various research tasks
• Helps collect and compile data on multiple research studies
• Assists in quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis
• Conducts data cleaning, preparation and organization for analysis
• Documents data preparation processes and analysis methods
• Conducts literature reviews on research topics related to building performance and impact measures as needed
• Assists with the preparation of presentations and other visual communication tasks as needed
• Works on multiple projects and collaborates with team members
• Participates in officewide initiatives and/or intern specific projects for presentations to peer group
