About The Position

The Engineer will have system and component release responsibility for:  Steering Column Control Module and related hardware. Components are both mechanical and electrical/electronic in nature. Responsibilities include design for vehicle functional and packaging requirements using a DFSS approach, DVP-driven product development and validation, structures engineering and analysis, electronic hardware and software validation, release documentation to meet program timing, and cost reduction activities. Position requires interface with suppliers and internal cross-functional areas within Stellantis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience in setting and assessing customer (internal/external) level requirements
  • Experience in constructing component and full vehicle DVP&R
  • Experience with defining functional objectives and constructing DFMEA
  • Experience with NX, Team Center, and change management processes
  • Passion for vehicles and the ability to access full vehicle performance characteristics
  • Ability to construct work plans to resolve issues
  • Ability to lead large teams, determine gaps to targets and develop solutions

Nice To Haves

  • MS in Engineering preferred.
  • Catia V5 or NX training is desirable.
  • SCCM  experience is preferred.
  • Candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, good organization and program management skills, be a strong team player, and have excellent problem solving skills.
  • Experience designing, developing, and releasing mechanical / electronic components are strongly preferred.
  • Also desirable are: manufacturing or launch experience, component or system testing, product creation, DFSS (design for six sigma)
