About The Position

The Miller Hull Partnership is seeking a Design Professional with 6-10 years of experience to join their team. This role involves designing projects of consequence that celebrate people and their natural surroundings, with a focus on environmentally responsible buildings. The firm works on a wide range of project types, including houses, mixed-use developments, corporate buildings, laboratories, schools, and community centers. The ideal candidate is high design oriented, focuses on socially and environmentally responsible projects, thrives in a collaborative team environment, and is self-motivated and eager to explore. The firm values an innovative, dynamic approach to design and is looking for professionals with experience in multifamily projects (including mixed use, affordable housing, student housing) and/or managing public K-12 and Community College projects in California, including DSA review process. Requirements

  • Highly self-motivated applicants with experience working on either multifamily projects (including mixed use, affordable housing, student housing) and/or experience managing public K-12 and Community College projects in the state of California (including managing the DSA review process).
  • A professional degree in architecture from an accredited program.
  • 6-10 years of post-graduate architectural experience.
  • Proficiency with Revit and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with design, technical detail development, construction documentation, permitting for projects (specifically with construction types typical of multifamily projects and/or developing construction documents in compliance with Department of the State Architect requirements).
  • Contributed meaningfully to projects that required a high level of interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • An eagerness to both learn from and teach others in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • A refined design sensibility with a capacity to generate compelling presentations, graphics, diagrams and renderings.
  • A high level of engagement with their work and deep curiosity about its relationship to broader issues.
  • A commitment and interest in pushing new design frontiers at the intersection of social equity and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the entire project team to iteratively study and develop design concepts.
  • Ensuring that a project’s design concept is reflected in all aspects of its development.
  • Working in a highly collaborative manner with subconsultants and other stakeholders.
  • Understanding assigned tasks and their relationship to larger workflows, while being resourceful and seeking appropriate guidance to ensure their successful completion.
  • Experience working with and mentoring other architectural staff, to ensure the success and growth of everyone on the team.
  • Taking ownership of the accuracy, completeness, and overall quality of portions of the construction documents or entire drawing sets.
  • Performing construction administration tasks including site observations, RFI responses, and submittal reviews.
