About The Position

As a Civil Engineer - Design Professional in the Industrial Development with 0-3 years you’ll play a key role in supporting the firm and shaping projects that make a difference—from concept through completion. You’ll collaborate with talented teammates, contribute your expertise, and help us deliver thoughtful, high-quality solutions for those we serve. This position is primarily performed in an office or hybrid environment and may require travel to project sites, other Shive-Hattery office locations or to meet with clients.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficiency in foundational engineering and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Excel – basic level)
Familiarity with discipline-specific analysis or modeling software (introductory level)
Ability to follow detailed instructions and learn standard practices
A full clean driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

Entry level of professional work requiring a bachelor’s degree in engineering and no experience, or equivalent
Works under close supervision with specific and detailed instructions
Performs a variety of routine tasks to gain familiarity with engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs
Performs specific and limited portions of broader assignments
Usually assumes no responsibility for direction of others
May assist in development of selected clients through marketing
