About The Position

North Bay Apparel is seeking a Design / Production Assistant to join our Men’s and Women’s Activewear team. This unique position reports to the Design Director and supports the entire Design Team as needed.

Requirements

Minimum of 2-3 years of fashion industry experience in design
Able to multitask and switch gears as needed
Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Suite
Highly organized / Great communication skills / Detail-Oriented
Ability to evaluate lab dips and fabric qualities required
Garment construction knowledge required
Must be a team player, open to taking direction, and able to work well under pressure

Responsibilities

Work with the Design Director in creating original designs and takedowns from the Men’s & Ladies lines for our growing kids’ line
Create and update tech packs for the kids’ line
Assist Senior Designers in creating CADs and tech packs when needed
Biweekly review of Royalty Zone
Communicate with NB corporate when necessary for approvals
Meet all deadlines as per seasonal calendar
Track and update status of SMS, PP & TOP samples for major accounts as per their requirements weekly
Communicate with factory on all approval items including lab dips, bulk fabrics, print patterns and trims, collaborating with design team as needed.
Keep electronic and physical records of production approvals by season. Follow up with factories on rejected submits.
Organize and send packages with fabrics and trim qualities to factories
Receive and distribute incoming packages from factories
Communicate with buyers on seasonal samples
Send out samples to buyers
