About The Position
As a Design Lab/STEAM Teacher at Merryhill School, you will bring energy and innovation into the classroom by leading students through engaging hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. You will play a vital role in preparing students to explore, experiment, and engineer creative solutions, nurturing critical thinking and real-world problem-solving from an early age.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in elementary education or a STEAM-related field from an accredited college or university
- Ability to successfully pass a state and federal background check
- Passion for STEAM education and a commitment to inquiry-based teaching
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage young learners in complex thinking
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver inquiry-based STEAM lessons that align with grade-level standards and foster exploration
- Incorporate project-based learning, makerspace tools, and technology to deepen student understanding
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and collaboration
- Communicate with families to share student progress and celebrate achievements
- Collaborate with fellow educators to support interdisciplinary instruction and school-wide STEAM initiatives
