About The Position

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) has an exciting opportunity for a student currently enrolled in a Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) program to join us in our Right of Way Division as a Design Intern. Requirements

Must be a three-fourths time student in good standing majoring in a discipline or field related to the work to be assigned.
Basic knowledge of MicroStation or CAD software, surveying and drafting.
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Ability to communicate effectively.
Must be able to work at least 10 hours a week when classes are in session.

Nice To Haves

Currently enrolled in a higher education program with coursework in Plan/Print Reading, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), or Surveying.
Experience with CAD and GIS software or similar programs beneficial.
Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.

Responsibilities

Assist Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) Right of Way Designers with project development.
Complete right-of-way design projects.
Research files of existing projects for our customers and complete those projects needing to be archived.
Interpret right-of-way plan sheets.
Perform other duties as assigned.
