About The Position

The Design Integrator is responsible for coordinating, managing, and facilitating multidisciplinary design integration activities for Military Construction (MILCON) projects. This position serves as the primary link between project teams, government stakeholders, and reachback subject matter experts (SMEs) located in home offices, ensuring all technical disciplines are effectively coordinated throughout the planning, design, and construction phases. The Design Integrator leads integration reviews, manages interdisciplinary comment resolution, and helps ensure projects achieve design quality, constructability, sustainability, mission requirements, and compliance objectives within established schedules and budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in design, engineering, architecture, construction management, or project delivery.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting federal or Military Construction (MILCON) projects.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and technical reviews.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and coordinating engineering and architectural deliverables.
  • Working knowledge of military facility design standards and project delivery processes.
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary building design and construction practices.
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate reviews among diverse technical disciplines.
  • Knowledge of MILCON project development, design milestones, and delivery requirements.
  • Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), DoD standards, and military facility requirements.
  • Excellent meeting facilitation and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to analyze technical documents, plans, specifications, and design reports.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and task management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent assignments and meet project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with design management platforms, document control systems, and collaboration tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with remote and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% based on project requirements and client needs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to federal and military installations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required by contract.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites, client offices, and design review meetings.
  • Availability to coordinate meetings across multiple time zones with remote technical teams.
  • Proof of citizenship will be required as a condition of employment.
  • Candidates may be required to obtain and hold a Secret or Higher US Government Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate multidisciplinary design integration reviews for MILCON projects.
  • Serve as the primary interface between project teams and discipline-specific SMEs located in regional and home office locations.
  • Manage review cycles for architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, telecommunications, geotechnical, environmental, and other technical disciplines.
  • Schedule, organize, and lead design review meetings, workshops, and technical coordination sessions.
  • Ensure design deliverables are reviewed at established project milestones, including concept, 35%, 65%, 95%, and final design submissions.
  • Track review comments, assign actions, monitor resolutions, and verify incorporation into project documents.
  • Facilitate communication between designers, project managers, government representatives, and technical reviewers.
  • Review project documents to identify design conflicts, coordination issues, constructability concerns, and potential risks.
  • Support quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate compliance reviews for Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), military branch-specific criteria, building codes, sustainability requirements, and client standards.
  • Maintain review logs, action item trackers, meeting minutes, and design integration records.
  • Identify schedule impacts and communicate review-related risks to project leadership.
  • Assist project managers with monitoring design progress and maintaining project schedules.
  • Support Value Engineering (VE), risk management, and constructability review efforts.
  • Ensure technical consistency among disciplines and facilitate resolution of conflicting requirements.
  • Support proposal development and project pursuit activities by providing technical coordination expertise.
  • Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with development and refinement of design review processes and procedures.
  • Support construction phase design coordination and resolution of field-generated design issues.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff involved in design coordination activities.
  • Participate in client meetings, technical workshops, and project briefings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
