We are seeking a Design Engineering Manager to oversee the workload and activities of personnel supporting assigned plants within the business unit. This role involves developing procedures, workflows, training, and onboarding to foster a productive team environment. The manager will participate in, lead, or support projects related to R&D and business activities, including creating and maintaining product designs and costs, and generating product data sheets and drawings. A key responsibility is reviewing customer and industry specifications to ensure Prysmian group facilities can meet requirements. The role utilizes in-house cable design tools (Cable Builder and/or Common Analisi) for BOMs and routings, and supports annual reviews of scrap, labor, and auxiliary coefficients to align system costs with operating conditions. Additionally, the manager will support corporate reporting for taxonomy, sustainable sales, and other business metrics, and use in-house ERP systems (HFA/SAP) for material master data. Cost development and analysis for quotations/production, benchmarking analysis, and interaction with Commercial and Manufacturing personnel are also integral. The role requires maintaining process guidelines in design systems, owning the engineering change notice (ECN) and deviation processes, and evaluating innovative ideas for new products and enhancements. The Design Engineering Manager will also provide ideas and track Design to Cost projects, act as a team player on technical teams for special projects, and assist the broader R&D team with design systems support. A strong operating knowledge of industry standards (ICEA, UL, CSA) and preparation of design documentation for factory trials are essential.
