  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Competence using 3D solid modeling software.
  • Ability to review and interpret CFD and FEA simulation results.
  • Ability to explain simulation data to the engineering team and translate results into actionable design improvements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • SolidEdge experience is preferred.
  • Project management experience and general understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience preparing CFD or FEA models, including meshing, defining material properties, and applying loads and boundary conditions.
  • Ability to validate and extract results from simulation data, create visual plots such as contours and streamlines, and interpret quantitative results to verify design performance.
  • Understanding of refrigeration systems, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and structural analysis principles.
  • Basic electrical component knowledge.
  • Sheet metal design experience.
  • PLM system experience, such as Teamcenter or Windchill.
  • MRP system experience, such as Oracle, Mapics, or BAAN.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Lead Engineers on conceptual design and development of refrigerated display cases.
  • Design for manufacturing across formed sheet metal, fabricated copper tubing, electrical assemblies, welded structural frames, product sub-assemblies, and top-level system assemblies.
  • Understand customer needs and follow product development and release processes to meet quality standards and customer schedules.
  • Plan and coordinate implementation of product releases within the PLM system.
  • Support improvements to product innovation, quality, function, and cost.
  • Study new and existing designs to incorporate cost-effective technologies and maintain competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with multifunctional, multi-departmental project teams to release quality, cost-effective products on time.
  • Troubleshoot products, processes, and tooling hands-on, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure accuracy of engineering information for assigned projects, including PLM attributes, BOM structure, product specifications, test reports, and design review documentation.
  • Participate in engineering gate review deliverables, including design reviews, DFMEAs, and DVP&R.
  • Support program completion on schedule and within budget while meeting technical and customer requirements.
  • Validate new designs through prototype builds and first-article inspections, and help resolve issues identified on the manufacturing floor.
  • Maintain current technical competence in relevant mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and computer technologies, and attend training as needed.
  • Support development of test plans and configurations, assist with test execution, and analyze and report test results to verify systems and components against requirements and specifications.
  • Execute tasks with minimal direction.
