About The Position

PCI is seeking an experienced Design Engineer for its PCI Denver 583 operations based in Aurora, CO. This individual will be responsible for creating and coordinating 3D models using Revit and other BIM software, ensuring spatial coordination, and collaborating with design and operations teams. The role involves developing various scopes of work, performing clash detection, and supporting project documentation and field use.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, Engineering Fields, etc.) preferred, OR 2-year technical degree or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
4+ years of BIM (Revit)/VDC modeling and coordination experience.
Proficiency with software platforms including Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360 Design/Glue.
Ability to present a portfolio demonstrating work in Revit and Revit Family Editor.
Experience with Bluebeam PDF Software.
Ability to understand design and document coordination.
Innovative and creatively minded individual looking to improve process, procedure, and construction techniques.
Ability to take responsibility for the outcome and results of assigned projects.
Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as durations of independent/isolated/unsupervised environments.
Project management skills.
Ability to communicate the benefits of BIM/VDC, both for internal and external purposes.
Passion about BIM/VDC and how it can be used to improve the productivity of those who work in design and construction.
Ability to multitask under pressure and handle last-minute requests.
Must be flexible and willing to visit project site and area of importance as required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with glass and glazing, non-structural metal framing, drywall, façade systems, and ceiling systems preferred.
Working knowledge of Dynamo, Revit API, SketchUp, and iConstruct are a plus.

Responsibilities

Attend kick-off meetings to understand project scope, contract requirements, and Level of Development before modeling begins.
Create 3D models utilizing Revit.
Actively participate in BIM coordination and design meetings.
Develop and model scopes including, but not limited to, Interior and Exterior Walls, framing, Ceiling and Soffit Framing, Acoustical Ceilings, Specialty Panels, Raised Access Floor, Clean Room Walls, Clean Room Ceilings, Unistrut, No Fly Zones, and other specialty scopes to required Level of Development using Revit and other Revit add-on programs.
Coordinate with point cloud files.
Ensure models produced are spatially coordinated.
Escalate any issues to the BIM Coordinator and Design or Operations Team.
Elevate model and document inconsistencies to the attention of the BIM Coordinator and Design/Operations Team to determine action.
Ensure all elements of the model are fully coordinated within PCI’s scope.
Perform BIM compliance checks of deliverables.
QC model against project documents for discrepancies.
Utilize Navisworks Manage to run clash detection and identify potential issues.
Use Navisworks to resolve PCI clashes.
Attend staff training to enhance staff members’ knowledge and expertise of the standardized software used.
Create and maintain project-specific content to ensure alignment with instructions, guidelines, in-house standards, and project BIM standards.
Actively engage with Design and Operations Team to implement best BIM/VDC practices.
Coordinate with BIM/VDC service providers and clients.
Provide and design support tasks including processing install drawings, incorporating comments, producing details and layout files.
Clean, prepare, and organize CAD/Navisworks files for field use.
Special projects as assigned.
