About The Position

Eaton’s ARS division is seeking a Design Engineer for an onsite role in El Paso, TX. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this role will coordinate and manage manufacturing engineering activities in production areas to support existing production lines, new product development, new production lines, product transfers, equipment specifications, and maintenance. The position also involves participation in initiatives and deployments related to lean manufacturing, safety, and product/quality cost improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in product, design, electrical, or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (Co-ops and internships will count towards this requirement).
  • Demonstrated Mechanical and Electrical experience on switchboard products and processes.
  • Training and Experience with Lean and Six Sigma Tools.
  • Experience with New Product Introductions / New Lines set up and start up.
  • Experience in the use of IE software (TimerPro), preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the NPI/NPR process in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Support, advise and actively participate to achieve Key Performing Indicators (KPI’s) identified for product lines under his/her responsibilities such as Safety, Quality, On-time performance, Productivity and others as agreed with VS Manager, OPEX Manager and Lead VS Engineer.
  • Coordinate maintenance of documentation applicable to product lines under his/her responsibilities.
  • Utilize his/her technical leverage to support the departments of Production Control, Customer Service, Production, Quality, Manufacturing, Accounting and Materials.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of improvement projects that positively impact Cost, Quality and Cycle Time.
  • Actively participate/lead or support the Corrective and Preventive Actions assigned to product lines under his/her responsibility.
  • Experience transforming manufacturing processes to adapt to customer specifics.
  • Lead the analysis of new programmatic products and suggest changes to make the product more manufacturable (Bussing and electrical knowledge).
  • Maintain the applicable PFMEA’s on product lines under his/her responsibility.
  • Lead the design, quote, installation and start-up of the new manufacturing processes required to support growth.
