Drewco is seeking a Design Engineer to join their team. For 79 years, Drewco has built a reputation for quality, craftsmanship, and custom solutions. They create one-of-a-kind workholding and tooling solutions for leading manufacturers across the automotive, agriculture, mining, defense, and gear industries. The Design Engineer will work on custom tooling projects that require creativity, collaboration, and strong mechanical thinking, gaining hands-on experience in a supportive engineering environment while developing skills and taking on increasingly complex, one-of-a-kind projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum two-year technical degree considered)
• 2+ years of mechanical design experience in a 3D modeling application
• CAD proficiency required, SolidWorks preferred
• Experience detailing components
• Prior mechanical component or assembly design experience
• Comfort spending most of your day on a computer, modeling and refining designs

Nice To Haves

• Fixturing/workholding, machining, or shop-floor experience

Responsibilities

• Design workholding and custom tooling in SolidWorks
• Work directly with customers to understand requirements
• Create 3D models, assemblies, layouts, and detailed component drawings
• Calculate dimensions, clearances, and tolerances (GD&T) and create BOMs for manufacturing
• Collaborate with engineering, the shop floor, and sales
• Review your own work and assist in checking others’
• Manage projects from concept through release
