CK Manufacturing is seeking a Design Engineer to build innovative steel fabrication designs that move from concept to production. This role involves designing custom steel fabrication projects that become real-world solutions for commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers. Requirements

  • At least five years of CAD engineering or design engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with SolidWorks, 3D models, production drawings, and Bills of Materials
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks with the ability to create detailed 3D models, production drawings, and Bills of Materials independently.
  • Ability to approach engineering challenges with attention to detail, sound judgment, and a practical mindset while working both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Design custom 3D models and detailed 2D production drawings in SolidWorks for commercial, industrial, and agricultural steel fabrication projects.
  • Create accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation to support efficient manufacturing and assembly.
  • Collaborate with the fabrication team to develop practical, manufacturable designs that balance quality, functionality, and cost.
  • Analyze design concepts, troubleshoot engineering challenges, and recommend improvements that enhance production efficiency and product performance.
  • Mentor teammates by sharing SolidWorks knowledge, providing training, and helping others strengthen their CAD design skills.
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve products and engineering processes continuously.
  • Partner with manufacturing personnel to resolve design-related issues and ensure projects move smoothly from engineering to production.
  • Stay current on SolidWorks advancements, engineering best practices, and manufacturing technologies to continually improve capabilities.
