About The Position

Provides technical leadership and engineering expertise for the design, development, validation, and application of bearing solutions within the automotive market. The role is responsible for the overall design and technical execution of roller bearing products used in powertrain and drivetrain applications, including support for new business development, product launches, customer requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives. Initial responsibilities focus on Ball Bearing and Tapered Roller Bearing technologies, with responsibilities expected to expand to additional bearing types and technologies as business needs evolve. The position designs new or applies existing bearing designs to meet customer application and product requirements; supports development, validation testing, and launch of new designs; and drives improvements to engineering standards, efficiency, product performance, manufacturability, and profitability. It also provides engineering support to manufacturing, sales, and customers for existing production designs and develops new product design features or methods to advance the product line. The work is mostly performed in a normal office setting, with substantial computer use and minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. The position may occasionally require visits to manufacturing or lab areas, where safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection are required. Travel by automobile and plane is required approximately 10–15% of the time. The role has no supervisory responsibilities.
