About The Position

The mine services group is seeking a full-time Design Engineer for its Northwood, Ohio branch. The role involves producing 2D and 3D designs, developing compliant engineering designs and documentation, performing civil and structural calculations, and creating civil/structural drawings. The Design Engineer also supports design-document approval and plant modifications, provides technical guidance for engineering analyses and problem resolution, and collaborates with internal teams and clients. The position may involve visiting client facilities and performing physical activities.

Requirements

• Demonstrated AutoCAD experience.
• Mechanical or civil engineering background.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines.
• Comfort visiting client facilities and performing physical work such as walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
• Proficiency in structural design.
• Ability to draft infrastructure from field measurements or provided drawings while meeting time and budget constraints.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with conveyors, structural towers, and foundation work.

Responsibilities

• Perform 2D and 3D designs using Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Collaborate with managers, designers, field technicians, customers, drafters, and administrative staff.
• Develop designs, specifications, and calculations that document compliance with project and code requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations for foundations, reinforced concrete structures and components, structural steel frames, and similar concrete and steel structural components and systems.
• Generate compliant civil/structural drawings for layouts, building sections, plans, details, foundation details, steelwork details, and architectural feature designs.
• Assist with the preparation and approval of design documents and plant modifications, including supervision of engineers and designers in document development.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to develop, manage, and implement engineering analyses, activities, and programs to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
