About The Position

Synthetic is building a software product to simplify the financial side of software businesses, handling everything from contracts to payments. The company aims to provide a seamless, integrated solution for software companies that currently rely on fragmented systems like QuickBooks, Stripe, and spreadsheets. Synthetic has rebuilt its core systems for contracts, accounting, billing, invoicing, and payments, integrating agents to automate busywork. The result is a user-friendly and visually appealing solution that ensures accurate numbers because the company controls all systems involved. Synthetic recently secured $10M in funding from investors such as Khosla Ventures and Tobi Lütke. The company emphasizes a results-oriented approach and operates in-person from its San Francisco office six days a week, with flexibility in working hours. This role is for a Design Engineer to join a 7-person team and be responsible for the overall look and feel of Synthetic. As the second design hire, this individual will collaborate with the existing designer and report directly to the founder. The position encompasses brand, marketing, and product responsibilities. For brand, the role involves defining and maintaining Synthetic's visual and auditory identity. In marketing, the Design Engineer will create the company website, landing pages, and launch materials with the growth marketer. On the product side, the role includes building and refining features using TypeScript on SvelteKit alongside the engineering team, with work being deployed to customers rapidly.

Responsibilities

Define what Synthetic looks and sounds like, and keep it consistent everywhere it shows up.
Design and build our website, landing pages, and launch materials alongside our growth marketer.
Build and tweak features in TypeScript on SvelteKit, side by side with our engineers.
