About The Position

Grow Therapy is seeking a Design Engineer to enhance the quality, motion, and polish of their product. This role bridges design and engineering, collaborating with teams to deliver crafted, consistent, and human-centered features. The Design Engineer will embed within product teams to own the interaction quality layer from ideation to launch, ensuring a high level of polish. Responsibilities include identifying and fixing UI issues, refining interactions, improving overall UI quality, defining scalable motion and interaction patterns, contributing to design system enhancements, and partnering with the frontend platform team to align design intent with production reality. This is a key role for building a world-class product surface and elevating the company's craft as it scales.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of frontend or UX engineering experience, ideally in consumer or product-focused companies.
  • Excellent sense of visual and interaction design, with an eye for spacing, typography, motion, and delightful details.
  • Experience collaborating closely with designers throughout the entire product development process.
  • Ability to prototype quickly and translate ambiguous ideas into tangible interfaces.
  • Ability to build scalable component libraries, design systems, or reusable UI frameworks.
  • Fluency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, Next, React, CSS systems, and component architecture.
  • An understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and web performance considerations.
  • A systems mindset seeing patterns, simplifying complexity, and designing for long-term reuse.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence product direction and UI standards.
  • A passion for building delightful, consumer-grade user experiences.
  • Founder’s mindset - ownership, speed, scrappiness, resilience, bias toward action.

Responsibilities

  • Embed across various product teams to support high-impact work, partnering with designers and engineers from ideation to launch.
  • Prototype and build interaction-rich experiences that bring design concepts to life in production.
  • Collaborate with product designers and product managers to identify opportunities and explore solutions.
  • Define motion and interaction standards that scale across the product.
  • Proactively identify and execute on opportunities that raise the overall quality bar for visual polish, interaction, and frontend craft across the company.
  • Audit and improve production UI by identifying and fixing visual bugs, inconsistencies, and interaction gaps.
  • Contribute to design system improvements in partnership with design and the frontend platform team.
