This role involves managing the end-to-end workflow for concessions, including preparation, writing, validation, and coordination with stakeholders. The Design Engineer will provide on-call/on-duty support (standby and active, weekdays and non-weekdays) and shopfloor support. Responsibilities include conducting technical studies, 3D part design, flight test support, and managing Special Instructions (SI). The engineer will review concession data for completeness and accuracy, analyze deviations from engineering drawings, specifications, standards, or process requirements, and coordinate with the Quality team for non-conformance clarifications. This position requires liaising with multiple functions to ensure the most appropriate repair solution is met, considering cost, time, performance, and installation requirements. Coordination with the Supply chain on the availability of rare repair fasteners is also a key aspect before finalizing disposition decisions (use-as-is, repair, rework, scrap, return to supplier). The role includes identifying repeating issues and escalating for corrective action, proposing design improvements to Engineering for repetitive defects, and to manufacturing teams to strengthen process controls. If necessary, the engineer will design special parts to resolve nonconformities and review concessions to recommend design change requests if the nonconformity is caused by a design issue. The engineer will manage engineering data, documentation, and deliverables in compliance with quality and configuration requirements, support digital continuity initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement in design and communication processes. Additionally, the role serves as a technical representative for onsite-offshore coordination, addressing queries, Return to Task (RTT) clarifications, and technical escalations.
