Job Summary We’re looking for a Senior Design Engineer to lead development teams and ensure the technical integrity of New Product Introduction (NPI) and repair development for gas turbine component designs. From initial concept through manufacturing, operation, and repair, you will partner with technical Subject Matter Experts, Manufacturing, Powerplant, and Project Engineers to align technical requirements, schedules, performance, and cost. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience leading technical development for high-temperature gas turbine applications
  • Deep expertise in gas turbine design and manufacturing processes, including casting, joining, machining, and coating
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX, Microsoft Project, and statistical tools such as Six Sigma and Minitab
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Due to government regulation only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • LM2500 or LM6000 engine or component design experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of turbine, compressor, and combustor components, delivering robust, manufacturable solutions that meet performance and cost targets.
  • Shape project plans by defining technical milestones, supporting work-scope estimates, and guiding teams from concept through production.
  • Use advanced analysis to support new product development and repair strategies, making critical decisions that influence the technology roadmap.
  • Partner with chief engineers, Subject Matter Experts, manufacturing teams, Powerplant Engineers, and Project Engineers to solve technical challenges and deliver effective solutions.
  • Capture design requirements, progress, decisions, and results in clear reports and presentations for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Champion lean problem-solving and ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and sustainability.
  • Provide expert technical insight during in-field hardware reviews and operational assessments.
