Responsible for industrial campus facility mechanical systems design, selection, construction and ongoing operational engineering support. The facility mechanical systems and equipment includes centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, pumps, VFDs, steam boilers, hot water boilers, oil free compressors, desiccant dryers, air handlers, exhaust fans, VAV boxes, HEPA filters, recirculating air units, make-up air units, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, acid and VOC scrubbers, heat exchangers, tanks, vacuum pumps, scrubbers, control systems, etc. Take on Project Management responsibilities of projects during design phase and construction phase. Organize and lead project meetings. Able to develop detailed project scope of work and RFP, and to evaluate competitive bids and make recommendations for vendor selection. Create new capital project ROM estimates, construction schedules, and funding justification presentations. Be able to review and comment on new mechanical systems designs produced by MEP design firms under contract to WD. Review existing mechanical systems designs as required when troubleshooting issues which may require an engineered solution. Make suggestions on improvements. Assist with facility condition assessment of existing mechanical systems. Review existing mechanical systems installations through field investigation when necessary.
