Development of engineering design data within budget in accordance with FAA, customer and ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions (ZACS) standards of quality. This role involves providing technical support for various seating programs, completing feasibility studies for ZACS proposals, and developing design data for aircraft seating assemblies and components. The engineer will perform selections and studies related to fasteners, tolerances, weight, and cost, and develop preliminary engineering analysis. A key responsibility includes reviewing and mentoring less experienced Design Engineers, interfacing with other ZACS departments, and attending design review meetings. The position also requires providing technical support to Manufacturing during production and to customers during seat installation. Developing expertise in aircraft seat design concepts and industry standards, supporting other Engineering groups, and adhering to ZACS internal policies are also essential. The role involves working on complex design tasks with limited assistance and supporting customers, manufacturers, vendors, and the FAA to promote ZACS interests.
