Design Engineer I (Onsite)

EDP participants will complete three to four rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering obtained by start date
- Experience with one or more tools: Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, ANSYS, and classical methods of analysis
- Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
- Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Nice To Haves
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience
- Experience with military nozzles and exhaust systems
- Experience with GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994 and/or 2018
- Experience with Design Engineering
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills are highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Developing and sustaining hardware to meet system and module requirements
- Collaborating with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to address challenges
- Ensuring adherence to Pratt & Whitney's engineering processes
- Support design and optimization activities to achieve durability, performance, cost, and weight goals while meeting customer and program requirements
- Generate designs, accurately and thoroughly document and communicate those designs
- Provide analytical assessment, design substantiation, solid models, manufacturing & inspection plans, instrumentation, assembly and installation support from detail design through validation
- Provide design support for validation testing and engineering investigations
