Design Engineer I
About The Position
The Design Engineer I will be responsible for providing engineered drawings for HVAC control systems. This role involves reviewing specifications and contract drawings for assigned projects, creating accurate drawings and schematics using Visio, and sizing control valves, dampers, air flow stations, and similar components for HVAC systems. The engineer will also be expected to write and understand sequences of operations for HVAC control systems, and assemble submittals and O&Ms for projects. Experience with DDC control lines such as Schneider Electric, Tridium, or similar is required.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or other STEM field with 1-3 years' experience in relevant field.
- 2+ years' experience in controls design engineering OR 5+ years as a controls technician.
- Sound knowledge of electrical circuits, HVAC and controls required.
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
- Must be able to deal with a large volume of work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Experience designing systems with typical DDC control lines such as: Schneider Electric, Tridium, or similar.
