About The Position

Completes basic design engineering activities, including designing aircraft seats and components in compliance with FAA regulations and customer and OEM requirements. Performs piece-part and assembly design using CATIA Versions 4 and 5, including 3D modeling and drawing/drafting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and 0–3 years of experience, or a combination of education and equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the design of aircraft interiors.
• Knowledge of aircraft after-sales documentation systems, including CMM and SB, and aircraft configuration control systems.
• Experience with CATIA V5.

Responsibilities

• Design aircraft seats and components using CAD 2D/3D systems, including CATIA Version 5, to meet customer expectations and applicable regulations.
• Detail-design complex sheet metal, machined, cast, or forged metal components, as well as injection-molded or vacuum-formed plastic components.
• Generate 2D drawings from 3D models using standard aerospace drafting practices and in-house drafting standards.
• Address customer concerns by making seat and component design changes that meet customer expectations and applicable regulations.
• Participate in design meetings with project engineers to discuss engineering issues, design changes, and customer requests.
• Support Purchasing and Production by providing documentation needed to source parts.
