About The Position

This role involves light structures design control for several products in the Decatur Tractor scraper product line, including fabricated systems, hoods, guards, and enclosures. The design engineer will also be responsible for bolted assemblies and nonmetallic components design. The position supports the factory located onsite, as well as suppliers and field operations. Key responsibilities include resolving and improving design issues, creating concepts and designs, and leading design reviews. The role also supports the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.

Requirements

• Proficient with modeling tools like Creo or other 3-D design tools
• Previous experience designing welded steel structures
• Engineering degree (Associates accepted with 7-8 years of experience)
• Performing component level FEA
• Collaborating with suppliers to optimize designs
