As a Design Development Engineer, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for: Understanding and translating project requirements emanating from a variety of sources, creating computer models, layouts, detailed engineering drawings. Contributing to a cost-effective design and functional products by working closely with Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering. Creating and checking detail drawings for completeness and accuracy, ensures the Bill of Material (Parts List) for product design is accurate and complete. In conjunction with Engineering, ensures basic integrity of designs and layouts using correctness of proportionality, sizing, dimensional accuracy, tolerance limits, and conforming to Moog’s use of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) application practices. Suggesting or specifying materials to conform to design requirements and assist in the selection of acceptable processing procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum of 0-3 years of experience required.
- Working knowledge of engineering principles and design principles.
- Good communications skills which include the ability to present and convey technical concepts both verbally and in writing.
- Exposure to a mechanical CAD (MCAD) tools with a working knowledge.
- Exposure and familiarity with analytical software tools including but not limited to “stress analysis” and mathematical computation tools such as Matlab/Simulink, ANSYS etc.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience with Siemens NX MCAD design software and Teamcenter PLM is preferred.
