About The Position

The Design Consultant will be responsible for assisting customers with product selection, managing special orders, and maintaining the organization and presentation of the design center. This role requires a strong understanding of sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service skills. The Design Consultant will work closely with sales associates and Gallery Designers to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Requirements

Ability to lift merchandise of 40 lbs.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
Positive attitude when working with customers.
Knowledge of employment and merchandise handling procedures.
Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
Lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs occasionally to move objects.

Nice To Haves

Background in interior design preferred, either through education or experience.
Knowledge of methods for showing, promoting, and selling products.

Responsibilities

Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses.
Emphasize product features based on analyses of customer’s needs.
Assist sales associates through motivation and support with gallery documentation and processes.
Write and verify all special orders to ensure price, finish, fabrics, and trims are correctly specified.
Expedite the special ordering process efficiently and effectively.
Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
Keep the design center organized.
Ensure catalogs, price books, and fabrics are up to date.
Assist customers with fabric selections for custom upholstery and finish selections for case good orders.
Coordinate schedules with Gallery Designers to book in-home visits.
Assist designers with preparing for presentations.
Keep gallery merchandise presentable for customers.
Use excellent customer relations while demonstrating a high level of sales expertise.
Perform any other duties as directed by management.
