About The Position

Coastal Pools is seeking a Design Consultant for their Anne Arundel County clients, based out of their Grasonville, MD office. This is a full-time position with a salary of $40,000 plus commission, with training pay provided. The role involves selling and designing swimming pools, requiring strong communication, product knowledge, and proficiency in design software. The company is a leading custom pool builder known for quality, customer service, and community involvement, with accolades such as "Best of Annapolis and Eastern Shore."

Requirements

• Proven experience in sales/design in the pool industry preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of pool design, pool construction methods, equipment, and maintenance is preferred.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Valid driver's license and any required certifications.
• Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Structure Studios, and JobTread.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to pool construction.

Responsibilities

• Engage with potential customers to understand their pool-related needs via various communication channels.
• Answer customer inquiries, provide detailed information on pool options, features, and pricing.
• Address customer concerns and objections with problem-solving skills.
• Meet with clients to understand preferences, requirements, and budget constraints.
• Gather site information including topography, existing structures, and utility considerations.
• Develop creative and innovative pool design concepts aligned with client preferences and site constraints.
• Utilize design software to create detailed 2D and 3D renderings of proposed pool designs.
• Integrate landscaping and hardscaping elements into pool designs.
• Incorporate client feedback into design revisions.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other professionals for seamless integration.
• Work closely with construction teams on technical and logistical considerations.
• Collaborate with production and service departments for a seamless customer experience.
• Communicate customer expectations and specifications to relevant teams.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative design concepts.
• Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of pool types, accessories, and maintenance products.
• Provide expert advice on pool design, construction, and maintenance.
• Integrate new and creative ideas into pool designs.
• Create and deliver compelling sales presentations.
• Customize presentations based on customer needs and budget.
• Highlight unique selling points and competitive advantages.
• Prepare accurate and detailed quotes for pool installations.
• Work closely with customers to tailor proposals.
• Clearly articulate the value proposition of offered pool solutions.
• Manage and prioritize leads effectively.
• Follow up with potential customers to nurture relationships and guide them through the sales process.
• Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and sales activities.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and community gatherings to network and generate leads.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the pool and construction industries.
• Achieve sales targets and goals within specified time frames.
• Continuously evaluate and improve sales strategies.
• Stay informed about local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental considerations.
• Ensure pool designs comply with all necessary regulations.
• Obtain required permits.
• Gather all necessary documentation for permit applications.
• Complete and submit permit applications in a timely manner.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of application materials.
