About The Position

HDR is seeking a motivated and talented Co-op student with strong active learning skills to join their Toronto design team for the Fall semester. The Toronto studio is engaged in a variety of exciting projects in Transit, Healthcare, Education, and Science. The co-op student will benefit from the mentorship of experts in mass timber, sustainability, and computational design. HDR will support the student in fulfilling their internship program requirements and achieving their learning goals, committed to creating a meaningful internship experience.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
• Attention to detail
• Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

• Excellent graphic, rendering, and visual story-telling skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Software
• Proficiency in Rhino, V-Ray, Grasshopper and SketchUp
• Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the production of design and construction drawings.
• Producing diagrams, renderings, and walkthroughs.
• Coordinating with structural, mechanical, and electrical teams.
• Collaborating with large teams and working independently under the guidance of senior team members.
• Attending site visits and both internal and external meetings.
• Participating in office culture and design events.
