The Design-Build Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial and institutional design-build projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing small projects independently or supporting larger, more complex projects while collaborating with design professionals, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams. Projects are delivered using a variety of contracting methods, including Design-Build, IDIQ, Lump Sum, and Fast Track delivery. The position requires a strong understanding of project management processes, construction means and methods, and design coordination. Scope of Design-Build Assistant Project Manager Position Manage all phases of small design-build projects (approximately $0–$4 million) or provide project management support on multiple small projects or larger, more complex projects. Most assignments will utilize the Design-Build project delivery method. Essential Functions of Design-Build Assistant Project Manager Position Basic working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural, telecom, or electrical disciplines. Good analytical skills and the ability to effectively use a variety of estimating, scheduling, and reporting software tools. The ability to effectively communicate with management, design professionals, subcontractors, customers, and peer group. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze design drawings and specifications with the intent of contributing to design and construction scope alignment, cost savings, and overall technical proficiency. Ability to travel to different jobsites within a designated geographical area.
