This position requires on-site presence in Oceanside, CA, following a hybrid work model. A successful Design Applications Specialist understands the requirements of a project by reviewing construction documents and specifications. The DAS effectively communicates with our sales agents/customers in order to design factory drawing layouts that meet the projects application. Requested deliverables range from factory submittal drawings, lighting layouts and/or 3D models.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or relevant technical experience
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Strong Design and Analytical Abilities
  • Basic/Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (including, but not limited to, Illustrator) & AutoCAD
  • Problem Solving
  • Comprehensive understanding of Engineering documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work semi-remotely (required on site 2 days a week minimum)

Nice To Haves

  • AutoCAD
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Basic/Intermediate knowledge of SolidWorks a plus
  • Customer facing experience
  • Strong understanding of 2D drafting (experience preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Design factory drawings based on construction documents, project specifications, and sales agent or customer directives, including fixture schedules, detailed views, and single-line diagrams.
  • Utilize Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, and, when required, SolidWorks to produce, review, and revise factory submittal drawings for accuracy and compliance.
  • Possess and maintain a solid understanding of Alight product lines and Acuity controls products portfolio.
  • Manages own workload to ensure projects are completed on schedule, with the supervision of the manager.
  • Supports our sales agents/customers as it pertains to project specific technical questions for their product applications.
  • Collaborate and assist on special projects through teams and/or on site meetings with the ASM, Engineering, Design and Development and Inside Sales teams.
  • Actively contributes to a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement.
