About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced and Senior Design and Analysis Engineer for the F/A-18 and EA-18 Mission Systems team in Berkeley, Missouri. This role is crucial for advancing the platform's use of SW Applications, Containers, and Skills on the F-18’s Auxiliary processor (Distributed Target Processor – Networked [DTP-N]). The engineer will enable the organization to develop and utilize Mission Systems Apps/Containers/Skills, including those from third parties, which is vital for current and future fighter aircraft programs. As a Senior Design and Analysis Engineer, the individual will participate in the development of various capabilities, provide technical leadership, and contribute across the entire development, fielding, and operational lifecycles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, chemistry or other technical degree
  • Level 3: 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor's or 3+ years of work-related experience with a Masters or PhD
  • Level 4: 9+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s or 7+ years of work-related experience with Masters or 4+ years with a PhD
  • 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience in the Mission Systems field including aircraft modifications and systems integration
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams and/or projects
  • Active current Secret U.S. Security Clearance (active past 24 months) and an investigation date has been within the past 5 years. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Integration/development of Apps/Containers/Skills across multiple F/A-18 and EA-18 contracts that are developing advanced capabilities for the warfighters.
  • Works with external customers and internal stakeholders to plan and execute complex hardware-software integration efforts in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Identifies, collects, analyzes, and organizes technical execution/resource data (metrics) to manage the program.
  • Responsible for technical communication across teams and across levels of technical leadership.
  • Analyzes customer requests with consideration for contractual and technical impacts, and works with Integration to translate them into program and system requirements.
  • Coordinates with suppliers to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Provides support and solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Must be proactive in understanding the product systems and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance with first time quality.
  • Technical leadership and guiding on-the-job training for junior engineers.
