The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States. Principal Purpose of Position: Develop complete, accurate and up-to-date specifications for up-fit, to best meet the client’s business application(s) and needs. Review and monitor specifications for compliance with current OEM applications, processing standards, supply chain strategy as well as fitment and compatibility between selected components. Document and communicate resulting changes. Maintain technical working knowledge of chassis availability, specifications, and model year changes. Serves as a single point of contact, and resolution, for all vehicle Design related questions Provides timely and accurate quotes, aligned with the expectations established, meeting SLA’s where applicable. Offer alternative options based on OEM and supplier limitations, as well as utilizing Holman preferred vendor partners Research and make recommendations to drive savings, safety improvements, improved client work applications, or other benefits to customer specifications. Complete price quotations on vehicle upfit Maintain knowledge of vendor capabilities, features, lead times and alternative suppliers Collaborate with Regional Engineering Manager (REM) to support sales efforts by participating in client/product/up-fit reviews when necessary. Communicate regularly with sales, customers, engineering, suppliers, operations, scheduling and other departments and stakeholders to understand clients’ needs, expectations, and ensure operational efficiency Understand clients’ use and application of vehicle and components. Finalize orderable and complete quotes to flow seamlessly through the ordering process Attend informational sessions and training with OEM partners and up-fitters to stay on top of industry trends, technology and products Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment
  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant fields (including but not limited to engineering, automotive, mathematical) or equivalent experience in commercial truck or up-fitting industries.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Experience with MS Office software.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
  • Experience with managing multiple projects at same time

Nice To Haves

  • ASE training considered a plus
  • Additional experience with ERP, MRP or BOM management systems a plus.
