About The Position

Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists (CCVS) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician for its Dermatology Specialty team. This role is ideal for a technician comfortable with specialty cases and anesthesia, possessing steady hands, sharp monitoring skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The Dermatology team is looking for a technician with a strong anesthesia knowledge base or solid anesthesia experience, and a genuine interest in developing advanced specialty skills. You will work directly alongside the Dermatologist in a supportive team environment focused on exceptional patient care and client service. This position offers the opportunity to deepen anesthesia skills while learning the specialty side of dermatology, working with complex, chronic cases and procedures where technical skill and anesthetic expertise are crucial.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience as a veterinary technician
  • CVT/RVT/LVT preferred (or willingness/desire to obtain within 6 months)
  • Strong anesthesia experience and skills

  • Specialty experience is a plus—Dermatology is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various specialty procedures and diagnostics
  • Provide anesthesia & procedure support
  • Set up, monitor, and recover patients for sedation and anesthesia
  • Track trends, anticipate needs, and communicate changes quickly and clearly
  • Provide advanced nursing & dermatology case support
  • Provide excellent care for hospitalized and outpatient patients
  • Support chronic dermatology patients and long-term care plans
  • Process laboratory samples and handle dermatology-specific diagnostics
  • Partner closely with doctors, technicians, and client service to ensure a smooth experience
  • Educate and support clients through chronic and recurring conditions
  • Communicate clearly with referring veterinarians as needed
