This role is designed for individuals early in their Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) career, offering extensive exposure to the intricacies of a modern billing operation. The specialist will engage in client management, billing operations, denial resolution, and payer navigation. Responsibilities include directly managing a small portfolio of client accounts and providing support to senior account managers on more complex practices. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who asks insightful questions and is adept at figuring things out independently. Requirements

  • 1-2 years of medical billing experience
  • Understanding of how claims flow, common denial codes, and how to navigate a payer portal
  • Self-starter who tolerates ambiguity well and makes progress without waiting for perfect instructions in a fast-growing company
  • AI-native, actively using AI tools or curious about how they can improve work and efficiency
  • Communicates clearly and maintains professionalism under pressure, providing straight answers and following through with frustrated clients
  • A contributor focused on making an impact rather than solely on personal development

Responsibilities

  • Own a defined set of client accounts: answer billing questions, monitor account health, flag issues, and keep clients informed
  • Support senior account managers on larger, more complex practices: prepare summaries, track open items, and follow up on outstanding issues
  • Communicate with practice managers and physicians clearly and professionally, acting as the billing expert
  • Research and resolve claim statuses across major payers, understanding denial reasons and determining the correct path forward
  • Monitor AR aging reports and identify patterns such as slow payers, recurring denial codes, and revenue bottlenecks
  • Review EOBs and ERAs, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with the billing team to resolve them
  • Navigate various practice management systems, including ModMed, EZDERM, Nextech, DrChrono, and eCW
  • Contribute ideas for improving broken or inefficient processes
  • Actively utilize AI tools to find smarter ways to work and enhance efficiency
  • Learn the business through hands-on experience, as exposure is integrated into the work itself
