About The Position

Vanguard Skin Specialists is a dermatology and plastic surgery practice serving communities in southern Colorado. Our mission is to make a positive impact on our patients, our community, and our world. This position is for an experienced APP looking to transition into dermatology through a rigorous training process with board-certified dermatologists. In accordance with SB 23-083 that revised the CO Medical Practice Act, PAs with <3,000 hours in a new practice area will have a collaborative agreement that is a supervisory agreement. Vanguard upholds high standards in dermatology care. Thus, the requirements at Vanguard for a PA new to a practice area exceed the requirements under the revised CO Medical Practice Act. The primary training physician will function as the supervising physician for the initial 3,000 hours in the practice area. This position is for offices in Colorado Springs in addition to Pueblo, satellite clinics (La Junta, Hugo), and any additional clinic sites assigned. The training period is 2 years. Exceptional candidates may complete the program earlier but no earlier than 3,000 clinic hours and 1.5 years.

Requirements

>4 years’ work experience as a PA or NP
Preferably in primary care
Excited about serving patients in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and our surrounding underserved communities
Have track record of strong performance
Be willing to take a training approach that requires mastering the basic building blocks of a clinical position
Must be actively involved in the hiring, training, mentoring, and management of their dedicated MAs and support staff.
Must be a PA or NP with <3,000 hours in a new practice area will have a collaborative agreement that is a supervisory agreement.
