About The Position
The Skin Surgery Center at Hickory is seeking a dedicated Dermatology Medical Assistant to work as needed in Hickory, North Carolina. The role works closely with providers to support patient care and the smooth operation of the practice. The center provides medical dermatology, skin cancer care, and cosmetic treatments, with a focus on compassionate, high-quality care and an exceptional patient experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant certification.
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical setting.
- Understanding of medical terminology, especially in dermatology.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic office applications.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs and medical histories.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare instruments, equipment, and procedure rooms.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests and handle specimens for analysis.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and office communications.
- Educate patients about treatments, medications, and appropriate skincare.
- Keep examination rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked.
