About The Position

Peraton is currently seeking an experienced Deputy Task Lead to become part of our Federal Strategic Cyber Group. In this role, you will support the Task Lead with daily operations of a Cyber Security Operations Center (C-SOC), operability of workstations at all levels of classifications, review and audit cyber incident response tickets, ensure shift coverage, track accountability of personnel, attend shift change briefs, identify and mitigate negative performance trends, and provide command control and direction. You will also support the Task Lead with the execution of on-boarding, off-boarding, and training of contractors, as well as executing Continuity of Operations, assisting in developing and implementing detailed plans, providing command and control, and providing cyclic status reporting and after-action reports. Additionally, you will execute and deliver time-sensitive ad hoc taskings from contract and customer leadership, manage and execute site tours, and manage, draft, review, and deliver program documentation such as Weekly Activity Reports, Monthly Status Reports, Shift Change Reports, Knowledge Based Articles, Standard Operating Procedures, Slick Sheets, Schedules, Maturity Models, and Concept of Operations. You will provide operational support during significant cyber incident response operations and severe outage incidents, organize and conduct staff meetings, assist with managing administrative data (staffing reports, security clearance rosters, badging information, out of bounds contact info, account access, email distribution lists), assist with managing overtime requirements, and assist with managing the development of metrics-based dashboards to track C-SOC performance. You will collaborate with various teams and customer leadership to provide information briefs and solutioning, analyze business processes to determine inefficiencies and develop optimization plans, assist with yearly goal setting and performance reviews, assist with timecard processing, and assist with Peraton Professional Development training requests.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and minimum of 9 years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain one of the following certification before start date. Continued certification required as a condition of employment: CASP+ CE; CCNA Cyber Ops; CCNA-Security; CCNP Security; CEH; CFR; CISA; CISSP (or Associate); Cloud+; CySA+; GCED; GCIA; GCIH; GICSP; SCYBER; VCA DCV; PPDA; Agile IC;SNOW App Dev
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring staff, managing team performance, and fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, schedule, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery of objectives
  • Proven ability to analyze complex problems, support decision-making, and align team efforts with strategic organizational goals
  • Experience in risk management, data analysis, and performance reporting, including tracking KPIs and ensuring quality standards are met
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage priorities, engage stakeholders, and resolve conflicts effectively
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active Secret security with the ability to obtain a final Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities
