By law, the Department of Juvenile Services is a child-serving agency responsible for assessing the individual needs of referred youth and providing intake, detention, probation, commitment, and after-care services. This role ensures that the agency’s administrative, financial, and technological infrastructure is robust, compliant, and directly aligned with the mission of supporting youth and staff. This position oversees a broad portfolio including Human Resources, Information Technology, Fiscal Services, Procurement, and Capital Projects. The Deputy Secretary ensures that the agency has the talent, tools, and facilities necessary to provide high-quality care and rehabilitative services.
